Nifty things — I want to live on the Island of Misfit Toys

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

This is the first Christmas in my memory that I have not bought a single toy. I bought toys for presents even before I had children because, dude, who doesn’t like a toy or two? This year, none, although since the “Christmas” celebration won’t happen for me for another week that may yet change.

Since I just this morning posted a thing that I would never want to own, I think I’ll offset that with two stuffed animals that I find appealing.

The first is a finger puppet which is awfully cute, ignoring the fact that playing with this would mean — admit it — sticking your finger up a buffalo’s butt.

The second is a regular sit-around toy, the totem bird for this site. I like its little head, fluffy belly, and poky bird feet.

These as well as an amazingly wide variety of other animals are to be found on their shopping site. Whether you seek a plastic trilobite or a fuzzy anteater, this site has it available. It’s fun to look through and discover animals that I was previously unaware of (What’s a linsang? Neat!)
